Established in 1998, our firm represent clients throughout North Florida, in injury, insurance and business disputes. If we accept your injury case, you pay us nothing unless you receive a settlement or judgment in your favor.
Both of the firm's partners, Greg Lawrence and Scott Thomas, graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1993. Both also received their bachelor degrees from the University of Florida, where they were honored to be inducted into the prestigious Florida Blue Key Honor Society.
Our attorneys handle a wide variety of personal injury and accident cases including: car collisions; medical malpractice; trucking accidents; slip and falls, dog bites; workplace injuries; attacks occurring as a result inappropriate security; motorcycle wrecks; defective products; uninsured motorist claims; and workers' compensation claims.
Prior to forming Thomas & Lawrence, P.A., Scott Thomas and Greg Lawrence, worked for one of Jacksonville's largest firms primarily representing insurance companies. This experience gives our firm the unique perspective of understanding how insurance companies evaluate and defend personal injury cases.
Our firm also accepts cases where an insurance company refuses to hold up its end of the bargain. After receiving premium payments for months or years, sometimes insurers refuse to pay when a claim occurs. We have successfully represented clients who were left with no option but to sue in order to get the insurance benefits and coverage they purchased. We represent clients who have disputes with their own insurers for all types of insurance policies including: homeowners, life, disability, automobile, health, uninsured motorist, credit, boat, and motorcycle.
Thomas & Lawrence, P.A., also handles business and commercial litigation including disputes arising from: non-compete agreements, contract disputes, dissolution of companies, real estate transactions, landlord tenant relationships, overtime claims, claims for unpaid wages or commissions, bankruptcy matters, and collections.
While many civil cases are resolved prior to trial, our experience tells us that that preparation and the willingness to try cases when necessary is crucial to securing a just and reasonable settlement for our clients. At Thomas & Lawrence, P.A., our attorneys have handled numerous jury trials covering a wide range cases, including: automobile accidents, medical malpractice, civil rights violations, slip and falls, premises liability, employment discrimination, and contract disputes. We have tried cases in the state, federal and bankruptcy courts, and we will not hesitate to take your case to trial if the insurance company does not offer you a fair settlement.
Our firm does not advertise on television. As a result, we do not try to handle the volume of cases that advertising firms often handle. We pride ourselves on providing one on one service by an attorney. Your case will not be assigned to a paralegal. You will be able to speak with your attorney, either on the phone or in person, when you feel you need to. You may not need to call us often as we make it a habit to keep our clients promptly advised as to the status of their case.
