$12,906,861.00 Award for Woman Injured in Car Accident With Logging Truck - March 29, 2011

A 17-year-old woman was riding as a passenger with her boyfriend on U.S. Highway 1. They were heading south near the border between Florida and Georgia when the driver of a logging truck made an illegal U-turn into their lane. As a result, the car the plaintiff was in hit the right side of the logging truck. The plaintiff’s counsel successfully argued that the U-turn was reckless and dangerous and that the truck driver failed to yield to the car driver’s right of way. The plaintiff’s personal injuries included permanent and progressive brain damage causing her to spend six months in a rehabilitation center.

$2,982,318.00 Award for Housing Corporation in Breach of Contract Case – October 23, 2009

A housing corporation entered into a contract with a developer to acquire a low-income housing project. The plaintiff’s counsel argued that although the housing corporation upheld its contractual requirements, the defendant terminated the agreement and negotiations with plaintiff and entered into a new contract with another company to acquire the apartment complex. The plaintiff’s counsel sued the construction company for breach of contract and tortious interference with a contract.

$2,155,921.25 Verdict for Burn Victim in Car Fire – April 15, 2011

A young man suffered second and third-degree burns requiring skin grafts when his vehicle caught fire. The plaintiff’s counsel argued that the fire was caused by negligent mechanical and body work performed by a car dealership. The man’s injuries also included limited range of motion in his right arm and leg, smoke inhalation, heat damage to his esophagus and lungs, lost wages and loss of earning capacity.

$103,000 Award for Woman Hit by Drunk Driver - April 14, 2011

A woman was driving a motor home on Nassau County Road 119 near the intersection with U.S. Highway 301 when another driver ran a stop sign, crossed into the plaintiff’s lane and stopped. The plaintiff was unable to stop and collided with the vehicle, hit a guard rail and subsequently ran into the woods where her motor home finally came to a stop. The defendant was arrested for driving under the influence. The plaintiff’s motor home was severely damaged as a result of the car accident.

$58,100.00 Award for Woman Injured in Car Accident – July 13, 2006

A woman in her sixties was driving west on State Road A1A in Yulee, Florida. A man driving a pickup truck with an attached trailer was driving east on State Road A1A at the same time. As the truck driver started to turn left to get on Interstate 95, the woman hit the man’s vehicle. The woman’s counsel successfully argued that the man was operating his motor vehicle in a negligent manner and that he made the turn suddenly and directly in front of her lane of travel. The woman’s personal injuries included herniated and bulging discs along with neck and back pain requiring chiropractic and neurological treatment.
